Pineapple Jam with Mango Chips.

Mango chips are a beautiful creation of God Almighty. When made properly they taste wonderful. Mango itself is a wonderful fruit which helps the human kind irrespective of the fact that whether the mangoes are sweet or sour. When the mango slices are fried, it absorbs the oil in such a way that the slices elongate and when taken out of the oil they look like sleek , round/elongated and very small sized plates.

In many countries you will find that in the supermarkets, packets of mango chips are not available. They are available locally. At the gully stores or at the local market.

So, if you can get a packet of mango chips then great or you can make it at home. They taste truly great and if you can salt it with table salt, then it tastes crispier and that unique taste of raw mango comes out more as a flavour. One who has not had it, can never ever understand its taste.

Arrange the chips on a plate and put a bit of pineapple jam on each of them. Have them as evening snacks or while watching your favourite match or show or in between meals.

Adios!

The Celebrations of Ganesh Chathurthi.

Ganesh Chathurthi is a festival which is celebrated with a lot of fun fare. Pandals are made, sweets are distributed and there is happiness everywhere as it is a festive mood and people hardly bother with the problems in their lives for these ten days.

The moment the clock struck ten in the morning, people started bringing idols of Lord Ganesha to their homes with the band people playing loud music. Few had Ganesh idols home or at their pandals yesterday night itself. Each have done so according to their own convenience.

The lightings have been put up and the pandals have been decorated with beautiful cloths and the interior designing of the pandals has been done superbly. The celebrations have started and they will last for ten days.

People welcome guests in their homes and similarly they visit other’s houses as well. During this time, forgiveness is asked from all and the hand of friendship is extended all near and dear ones. Sometimes the requests for friendships are not reciprocated.

Lord Ganesha’s favourite sweet modak is distributed to all and with it banana is also given , as it signifies shagun. Many people get poojas and yagnas done during this time and all have a great time celebrating Lord Ganesha’s festival.

Lord Ganesha is known as the “vignaharta” meaning “the remover of obstacles”.

So, we(ma, baba and me) we pray to him on this great and auspicious occasion that he removes all the obstacles in our lives and blesses us with prosperity, dignity, love, kindness, mercy, help and ability and most of all with happiness.

Mothers waiting for the afternoon school to get over.

The primary school for kids was yet to get over. Tomorrow is a holiday for the kids as it is the eve of Ganesh Chaturthi. So, I suppose the teachers were giving the kids a bit of extra homework, like mothers who give a bit of extra jam in their child’s tiffin box. Only in the case of the teachers giving extra HW, kids would have to do maybe a total of ten extra sums to make their teachers happy.

The school bell hadn’t rung though it was five past four. The school timings were upto four thirty pm in the evening. That day the school was supposed to get over by four. This information had been relayed to the parents and the bus personnel the day before. So, the mothers had started worrying and within the next few two or three minutes the school bell rang and the kids came running into their respective mothers arms.

The bell man whose duty was to set the bell on, had apparently dozed off after eating a sumptuous lunch at the school. That day his wife had packed two extra aloo ke paratha in his tiffin box. Now aloo ke paratha(paratha) are generally very heavy to eat if they are stuffed with a good amount of aloo. He was dreaming that he had won the lottery to go on a romantic trip to Switzerland when the school’s principal was loudly calling out his name. When he woke up, he saw that he was drooling on his uniform and his boss was standing right in front of him. The principal was about to shout at him, but he controlled his anger and instead reminded him that it was five past four and that he should have rang the bell by now. The bell man apologized to the principal and he rang the school bell. Initially the principal was very angry with the bell man, as the principal himself was in a hurry to go home and so that he could take his family out for an outing. But when the bell man apologized and told him that it won’t happen again, the principal forgave him and all went home happy.

SO HAPPY GANESH CHATURTHI TO ALL.

Oh my God!

Every niche when God creates he doesn’t think, whether it is small or great. Craters are there, volcanoes erupt,a tremor shatters, all are in fear. They ask God –“ are we your dear?”

They never bothered, when river swelled up, the birds stopped singing. When mountains shelter them in high,

When harvests were golden, creatures all mindful, they say it is for them and not for nine. The nine are not chosen ones. They too have the same thoughts. The lilacs will grow again and I am simply but a rose.

The Larch.

The big bell rang in my church, sitting on a larch, it is a marriage, all are clad in different pattern. I watch them daily when they come here, when they do their prayer.I am watchful everytime, I have seen their fear. They make and break everytime, they don’t spare me forever. The chidren are lost who are in heaven looking down in despair.
