Three Competing Kites.

kite1.png

Kite no.1 is red-yellow-blue in colour. Kite no.2 is silver in colour and kite no.3 is magenta in colour. The kites were flying low as three boys were competing against each other. In an open play ground they were enjoying the morning fresh air. Suddenly the wind started blowing at a higher speed and the kites went up higher and higher; then it didn’t remain a competition any more but a fight with the wind to save their own kites.

The three different kites started flying in three different directions. One went straight up in the air, the second went left and the third went right. Generally in a competition kites fly near to one another and the opponents try to cut each other’s kited down. But here the kites kept flying high until the boys couldn’t keep looking at it any more as the sun was shining right into their eyes.

The tussle with the wind continued for few more minutes and the kites were brought down after a lot of efforts.

The competition resulted in a draw and to commemorate the occasion of draw in the competition; the three friends went to the ice cream “wala” standing at the gate of the playground and bought three vanilla sticks and relishingly having them went home to have their baths.

After fifteen minutes, one of the friends came out of his house and started flying his kite, but was careful about the height to which he allowed his kite to soar.

In the evening the three friends met again and they decided together that the next day they  would come wearing sunglasses (to prevent the sunlight) and ensure that a proper competition of kites is played between the three of them.

A Pink Flower.

Sai baba of shirdi

In an altar at a temple, I saw a small pink flower laid as offering to Lord Rama. We were mesmerized by the small and beautiful flower. I asked the nearby flower seller about the small pink flower which was laid at Lord Rama’s feet and he told me that it was a special  flower which he had procured for a festive occasion from a faraway village.

On asking about the cost he said-“eighty rupees for each”.

“Can you procure some of these flowers for me?”

He replied-“Yes. Half an hour ago, I received a bunch of those flowers. Here take these bunch for three hundred and fifty rupees.”

He gave me seven flowers for Rs.350.

On seeing and smelling the bunch of small pink flowers, we became very happy.

After reaching home, we placed those flowers on the feet of Lord Sai Baba and the day became happy.

An Orange tree.

At a faraway distant place, I can see an orange tree.. It is not a tree which is bearing oranges, but its leaves are bright orange in colour. The tree is placed among other trees wherein there are other trees surrounding it and those trees have red and yellow flowers and they look beautiful when looked upon from a distance.

The tree with orange leaves is completed over shadowed and covered by the others, but at a height of a hill, you can see the tree and enjoy and cherish its beauty.

Never in my life have I seen such a tree until today. I couldn’t believe my eyes that I was seeing it.  Nature is extremely wonderful; the moment you think that there is no such thing existent near you, you will find a marvel of nature waiting to be explored, seen and loved by you.

Festival

Beautiful lights hung outside houses for Diwali.

As it is Diwali, people have hung beautiful multi-coloured lights in different designs outside their homes and when looked at from outside, the lighting looks simply amazing.  These lights are put on during night time as during day, no one would be able to see their effects. The designs on these lights are of diyas, birds, flowers, sun, etc,… and when the lights are put on, the animation comes into effect and you can see the picture which the particular lighting wants to depict very clearly. Such lights function very smoothly and looking at them gives a very happy feeling.

Happy Diwali.

Today is Diwali. Wish you all a very happy Diwali.

Diwali is an ancient festival in India. It is the grand festival of Lights. Lord Ram came back home from exile after fourteen years, so it is a very happy day.

The thing which used to excite me when I was small was that you can burst a lot of crackers on this particular day and there used to be a cracker which used to light up as a fountain and I liked it the most.

Sweets are another and huge part of this tradition. Various multi coloured sweets are made in sweet shops and people buy them in huge quantities and give and gift them to their friends and relatives. At home many sweets are made such as Malpua, Jalebi and Laddoos.

Diwali 1

Diwali is the time when people light diyas (small earthen bases filled with oil and it is lit with a cotton wick). A series or rows of diyas looks wonderful.

At night, the fire crackers light up the sky in different colours and looking from a window, it feels as if the sky has become multi coloured with the darkness of it becoming the blank sheet of a sketch book.

There are many festive offers on electronic items, household goods which are given during the time before Diwali.

Diwali is a time of happiness, auspiciousness, prosperity and the time of celebrations with friends and family.

Diwali holidays is the vacation to which we all look forward to.

Diwali 2.png

During Diwali we(ma, baba and me) used to visit our maternal grandmother in Kolkata, but now she is with God Almightiest and there is no on whom we can visit. If the old days were to come back now, then we would immediately pack our bags and go to visit her and spend a lot of time with her.

Had she (my maternal grandmother) been alive today, our days would have been completely different.

My maternal grandfather used to lit the diyas and seeing the diays lit, he would become very happy.Such true happiness is rarer than any gem which can be found on earth or anywhere else.

Happy Diwali.
