Daniel and The Big Red Sparrow- Fairy Tales.

Jasmine’s mother who was a former doctor fairy, used to work as a doctor in the fairy hospital. She was a paediatrician and had taken retirement for the moment.

She had thought that she might be back to her work as soon as her kids begin living their own life.

Before taking retirement, the queen fairy had gifted her a red sparrow. At that time the red sparrow was a baby. Now it had grown up into a huge sparrow and could take huge loads upon it and could fly four fairies at a time.

Jasmine’s mother Martina had gifted this sparrow to her daughter on her seventh birthday. Jasmine was at first scared of riding the bird.

The bird was called Tino. Tino could talk but always asked for chocolates. Slowly, slowly Jasmine’s father taught her how to ride Tino.

Daniel had already mastered the art of riding and often took Tino to fly out in the other fairy lands.

It was Daniel who finally managed to get Jasmine ride Tino without any fear. He would fly up and down. He would fly Tino just above Jasmine’s head and call out to her-“See sister, I am not scared. Why are you?” Saying this he would break into a big laughter.

Once, while laughing his ride had become uncontrollable and had his father not done magic to save them, he and Tino would have crashed into the big huge Fairy tree. The fairy council meeting used to take place there.

Everyday, Jasmine would take TIno out for small rides, while Daniel would watch over them.

One day, Tino took a big leap and before taking it he asked Jasmine to hold onto him very tightly.

Tino soared the skies up and down and kept on flying the high skies till Jasmine became comfortable on his back.

Soon enough they would venture out every day.

One day in overexcitement Tino flew in great strides and reached the nearby land of potatoes, which was 150 nautical miles away from fairyland. For being a big bird, Tino was able to cover the distance in a short time. But now they were in trouble, as in the land of potatoes not only the potatoes were big, they could talk and move rapidly.

Tino was soon asked to land at the airport of potatoes and a potato immigration officer asked for their passport, visa and for the entry fees.

They had nothing with them.

When Jasmine informed them that she was an honorary seargent fairy under the fairy queen, a big potato man came and took out his phone and called the fairy secretary.

Soon enough a fairy contingent came and apologised for Jasmine and Tino’s mistaken behaviour and took them back home.

By then the Potato King was informed too and he had also come to take a look at the fairy and her big red sparrow.

Leading the fairy contingent was her brother Daniel. When Daniel came and shook hands with the potato king, Jasmine was very surprised. Daniel was a naughty fellow who used to spend his day playing in his school’s pool.

The potato king was a timid and a small man or “potato.”

After speaking to the potato King, Daniel asked Jasmine to get on Tino and both of them went back home, the fairy contingent also went back home.

Now the question arises, why was Daniel leading the fairy contingent?

The Fairy Jasmine.

In the fairy world, fairies have different strata of powers. Few of them are very powerful, few are super powerful and some of them are mini power houses. Jasmine was none of them.

Jasmine had been appointed as the trainee fairy eight days back. She was young and innocent. Most fairies are.

Jasmine had a little brother called Daniel who was one of the naughtiest of all to a very large extend. So much so that he had invited the wrath of the King of the Gnomes for going to the feast of the King without being invited. Therefore the King had punished Daniel by asking him not to attend school for a week.

Daniel used to love his school, as there was a pond where he could swim as long as he wanted to.

The first day of his punishment, he tried to run away from his home and go to his school, but the King of The Gnomes had put a spell on him and the moment Daniel reached his school, his feet automatically turned backwards and he found himself running back to his house.

As soon he had reached home, he began crying. His mother consoled him. But that night Daniel didn’t sleep. Instead he started brewing a potion to free him of the King’s spell. He even succeeded but Jasmine got the whiff of it and prevented him from drinking the potion. This angered him even more.

Jasmine knew that he loved to eat blueberry chocolates apart from swimming. So, she went to the garden and asked her friend Lily to give her a bagful of blueberry chocolates. Lily didn’t mind, so she gave her more than a bagful of blueberry chocolates.

When Jasmine returned home, she found Daniel missing.

The next morning a whole search party was sent by the queen and the Gnome king was informed too.

They searched everywhere, they couldn’t find him. At last the fairy queen took out her wand and said some magical words and Daniel appeared right in front of her. Seeing the fairy queen in front of him, he began crying.

The fairy queen asked him to stop crying and he stopped immediately.

She called for Jasmine and asked her to take him home. Jasmine was unable to do so as her brother wouldn’t budge.

The queen saw this difficulty, so she gave an honourary power badge to Jasmine, so that she could use magic to make her brother toe the line. This bestowing of a badge upon Jasmine, made jasmine an honourary badge seargent. The badge also came with two provisions.

1st:- As an honourary badge seargent she could use her magic to keep mischief makers under control.

2nd:- She could call on for more help from other fairy forces.

But never could she use her magic for any wrong purpose.

After receiving the badge from the queen she bowed down low to her.

The fairy queen blessed her.

Then she asked Daniel to follow her home. But Daniel blatantly refused. This time Jasmine, used her wand and waved it. Instantly the power badge began glowing and Daniel was lifted up in the air and was transported straight to his home.

Jasmine soon reached her home and told her parents about her new powers. Daniel began crying again. This time Jasmine didn’t ask him to stop crying. She simply used her power badge, waved her wand and he stopped crying and he went to sleep.

The power badge glowed brightly and Jasmine was given two points as a result for her good deeds.

The next day the King of the Gnomes visited their home and pardoned Daniel. Upon hearing the words of the King, Daniel rushed to his school, attended the classes and for each and every break he would jump inside the pool and make the water splash. He was very happy and so was his sister.

True Sportsmanship

True sportsmanship

True sportsmanship is a rare quality .People seldom understand its value. A true sportsman is a person who plays the game in true spirit of humanity and sports.

For example:-In football , despite there being no need, we can often see footballers pushing and giving a shove to each other. This often results in the footballer getting hurt.

True sportsmanship lies in the fact of having the courage to accept defeat with grace and dignity.Even if you lose quite a few matches in a row, that does not mean that you need to become a player who acts rowdily and in a disoriented manner.

A true sportsman never gets agitated while playing. He has the ability to remain calm and cool and he knows how to control his anger. True sportsmanship is displayed in following all the rules and regulations in playing.

So be a true sportsman in life, in sports and be happy always.

Kiwi-Pineapple Mocktail.

Pineapple and kiwi mocktail is a fabulous drink. When served with crushed ice, it simply nourishes the soul. When it passes down through our throats, the crushed ice and the kiwi pineapple drink gives a pleasant and cool relief. To make this mocktail, take a tall glass. In it, first add crushed ice. Ice crushers are available in the market or you can grind it in an ice mixer or in a plain mixer.

Add 30-40 gm of crushed ice. Then add 40 ml kiwi syrup and 25 ml pineapple syrup.

Take two slices of kiwi (small sizes) and add it. Take a fresh lemon and make thin round slices of it.

Add four such thin slices in the glass. Then add seven to eight basil leaves.

To bring balance, taste and sweetness to the mocktail, add 25 ml of sugar syrup.

Then using a stirrer, give a stir. Stir it nicely. Have a sip. If it tastes bland, you can add more of the sugar syrup. If you want to make it more of a kiwi mocktail, then add twenty ml more kiwi syrup. If there’s need for adding a bit of more pineapple syrup, you can do so. But remember, it’s a kiwi-pineapple mocktail, with kiwi in a major proportion.

It’s an excellent mocktail, make it, have it and be happy.
