A Village Railway Station.

Villages for many decades have been lagging behind in development and infrastructure. The difference between any city or town railway station and a village railway station is visible clearly.

That’s what makes such a railway station much more attractive.

I have seen few such railway stations and believe me they are as astonishing as anything.

Tea is sold in small earthen “khuris”. Khuris are small earthen tea holder cups.

You will often find people singing songs over there. The air is extremely fresh and the vendors at such railway stations sell day to day items at much cheaper and lower prices.

The trains which stop at such stations are unique too. Some of them are local trains and some are super fast trains.

The whole concept of it is hugely and vastly different.

Few stations which are located at remote places, don’t even have platforms, People climb the lower stairs of a train to get onto it.  I have seen such a train and till the train left, I kept staring at it.

In a village railway station a tea seller would always be shouting-“Tea, tea, hot, hot tea.” They often ask people to buy tea from them. Many village people, use local trains to go their place of work and toil very hard for a day.

The station master holds a great post. He is a babu and he helps people in many ways.

Sometimes, when long distance train comes and stops, the children of the villagers come they observe the train. They even get on the train, to know about it. Then it becomes the station master’s duty to deboard them and to take care that no one travels in it.

The life of a villager is much unique, different and sometimes difficult, but the charm of a village railway station is something which needs to be experienced, to feel it in your veins, to know what travelling in a local train from a village railway station means.

Oh! The Soup That Spills.

I have painted my wall with violet colour.

The paint is from a big company.

We had bought a dining table.

In the corner of the room,

There is wooden cupboard,

And in that cupboard, I have kept few angel figurines and few small things.

On that dining table,

There are mats placed upon it,

Which is coloured yellow upon marron.

Now I prefer to have a Chinese soup,

In a bowl on that table.

If I add a bit of soya sauce into it,

The soup tastes brilliant,

But such are the blends of Chinese soups,

That adding or not adding soya sauce doesn’t matter.

But yet it is preferable.

But most of the time, I spill the soup.

The mat has been spoiled due to the spilling of the soup.

Oh! The soup which spills.

My Bowl And Saucer.

I have a bowl and it is with me since my childhood.

I have eaten chicken, fried rice, biryani, kheer, soups, ice creams in it.

It is made from ceramic but it is still intact.

Whenever I eat in that bowl, my old memories comes back.

The happiness, the smells, the uniqueness that it is for me,

it was a gift for my parents.

Thank you God, for keeping it intact.

Even my sparrow chicks, who comes on the window still knows the bowl.

Even the crow who caws for biscuits knows the bowl.

And the saucer, what about it?

It is so beautiful that as soon as I hold it,

My childhood, my teenage, my likings, my intelligence,

Everything says it is nice.

Last I drank sugar cane juice with lemon drops and ice in it.

Oh! Lord, please save my saucer and bowl.

It had been shifted from place to place as we moved from a place to another,

And it has remained the same.

It loves me and I love it too.

They are my friends, without whom I cannot do. Adios!

The Sparrow Flew Away.

The sparrow flew away,

To it’s nest.

It had brought food for it’s children,

And took a little rest,

In a nook.

The sparrow flew away,

Went in search to bring happiness and delight,

For it’s little children,

Bought a small red ribbon,

And big cutting of a soft cloth.

It covered it’s babies,

With the soft cloth,

And made it’s little one’s happy and merry.

This time the sparrow didn’t fly away,

Instead, it was very happy,

That the day was successful, brilliant and happy.
