Tiffin box

Tiffin Box.

A tiffin box is a child’s paradise.Without it, school doesn’t feel as school. The main thrill of going to school is the tiffin box. After the boring three or four lectures, as soon as the bell rings, there is a rush to bring out the tiffin box till the time it is opened and the wait is insane.Suppose, ma gives a tiffin box, which operates on lock and lock. One side of the lock is opening, but the other side is stuck there, those moments are really frustrating. By this time five precious minutes of break has gone away.At last the side lock opens and what do I see? Suji halwa with warm bread. Instantly I would dig in. My father is a bigger baby when it comes to tiffin boxes. On day ma had given him upma with tomatoes cut in between and by mistake she had given the spoon in his bag and not in his tiffin box. When dad came back home, he had a grumpy face.It was the next day morning, when he finally spoke up and like a small school going child started complaining to ma-“Yesterday you had given two big tomato slices in the tiffin box and you had forgotten to give a spoon as well”. Ma replied-“Tomatoes add a nice flavour and taste to upma and I had kept the spoon in your bag.” After that day ma has never ever given him tomatoes(sliced) in his tiffin box.

Ma used to give me suji halwa, idli, dosa, rice preparations in my tiffin box and it is the best thing about school. Tiffin is the only thing that I miss about those days. I will write more about tiffin box in the coming few days.

Adios!

A Spoon’s Job.

Wondered ever that what will happen if a spoon goes to work? Imagine a spoon, standing straight, wearing a tie and carrying a briefcase and going to office. Imagine a spoon speaking and the sound coming out of it’s mouth would sound metallic. But where would a spoon go for a job. Of course at the dining table or at a spoon stand. There it would be given good scrubbing worth atleast one or two dollars. That’s atleast more than what many bloggers make and who knows? Maybe one day it will go for a ten dollar worth steam cleaning and that’s like a bonanza for any blogger. Well atleast a spoon gets it’s due.

A spoon’s job isn’t easy.It has to remain speck, clean and spotless always, otherwise, humans would reject it.

The Archangels.

The archangels are angels of extreme superiority and they are the ancient ones. They are light, they are fun loving, they are serious, they are happy. They understand our sadness and our pain. They stand with us in all the moments of our life and they do help us.The most important thing of all, is that they love the humanity. A call out to them and in an instant they are with you.

Lord Krishna.

Lord Krishna with his blue coloured peacock feather,is my favourite god. From my childhood, I have had a fascination for him. The place where I used to stay had many Krishna temples, but we hardly got any chance to visit those temples. I have a big picture of Lord Krishna at my home.

One day when I was in twelfth standard, I had to learn a poem based on Lord Krishna and his devotee Meera. There were some questions at the end of the poem and I had to write the answers on my own and submit it next day to my Hindi Professor as homework. The whole evening till eleven o’ clock,I was writing those answers. My mind was full of Lord Krishna and his stories.

That night I didn’t watch T.V. and I went to bed after having dinner. While I was sleeping, I dreamt that we were walking on the lane opposite my home, we saw a board and on it was written that a Krishna temple was nearby. So, ma, baba and me, we proceeded towards it. After crossing two adjacent lanes we reached the place, where the temple was located.

It was a small temple, but the idols of Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha was mesmerizing. The idols were one and half feet in length. The inner sanctum was lit with diyas and panch pradeeps(five diyas together). Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha looked so beautiful that it is beyond any imagination.

Lord Krishna’s idol was magnificently decorated and his peacock’s feather was looking brilliant and beside him Goddess Radha looked wonderful. Ma, baba and me, prayed to him and took prasad from the pandit. It felt mesmerizingly divine and then we came out of the mandir and reached home and as I was talking with ma and baba, suddenly my dream broke and it was nearly five in the morning and I realized that it was all a dream.

When I woke up at eight o’clock, I told of my dream to ma and baba and they both were very happy to hear it.

This dream was a truly auspicious dream for me.

You spent some time with me.Thank You.

Oh! Today you have come. I haven’t seen you for so many days. Why is your face so grumpy and awkward? Are you hungry? Then you would have to wait for a few minutes.Let me get you something to eat. For so many days I haven’t had a bath. A new manager has come and he has ordered that all the cutlery be washed under hot water and cleaned nicely. So, on Tuesday I did enjoy a very nice soapy hot water bath and after that I was cleaned to be completely spotless. The next day they took me out and placed me on a dining table. The lady who sat on the spot, ate the salad by using a fork and me.Her mouth was full of chewing gum’s taste and I was utterly disgusted. That night they gave me a good wash and I was placed back again inside the drawer. People use me to cut vegetables and other eatables.

For so many days I have not ventured out. Now, they are taking me out of the drawer and placing me on the table. They are positioning me properly, so that the guests can eat conveniently.

My only sadness is that I can’t do my job, on my own.

What am I? I am a table knife always at your service.

See you soon.
