Together We Can Win The World.

Together we can win the world,

Together we can conquer it.

Had there been all good and no bad,

We would have been sure of it.

The world is round,

So are our minds.

After having our lunch,

Together let us play cards.

Together we can be friends.

Together we can sing,

Together we can dance.

Together we can cross the highs and the lows.

Lights so high,

Nights so bright.

Let us be friends,

So that we are always in the sky.

Together we are winners,

Or else we won’t get a dime,

So let’s be together,

So that we can win and shine.

A Father’s Concern.

In Bangalore, my mother was the class teacher of the fifth standard of a secondary school. There she taught till seventh standard. In her class there was a boy named Dasarath.

One fine morning, the class had begun. Ma was taking the class, when at 08:10 am a low and thin voice called out to her-“Miss, miss”.Ma  looked at the source of the voice and found Dasarath standing at the class room door asking for permission to enter the class.

Ma was surprised that he was ten minutes late to the class as the class had begun at eight.

Ma asked him-“Dasarath why are you late?”

He replied-“P.T. (physical training) sir had asked to wait on the ground as a punishment”.

Ma said-“Go and sit in your place”.

As the class was in full swing Ma couldn’t ask him why P.T. sir had punished him.

When the lunch break took place, Ma asked P.T. sir in the staff room that why had he punished Dasarath?

The P.T. sir let out a humorous and ho-ho laughter and replied-“Today, morning in the assembly line I noticed that he was wearing slippers. I asked him-“ Dasarath why are you not in your school uniform?”

As soon I asked him this, he took out his black school shoes from his school bag which were wrapped in a plastic. On seeing the shoes I questioned him-“ Why are you not wearing them?” To which he replied-“Sir, my shoes do not fit me anymore. They are too small for me. I had asked my father to buy me a new pair of black school shoes, but he said that just six months back he had bought me a new pair. If within six months my feet have grown then he couldn’t help it, as he can’t afford to do so.”

Dasarath’s dad was a police constable with a large family. As it was mandatory to wear black school shoes in school, so Dasarath had brought the shoes to convince the school authorities. So he came to school wearing house slippers and that’s the reason why P.T. sir had punished him.

It was the P.T. sir’s job to check whether everyone was in proper uniform or not.

Ma asked P.T. sir not punish him anymore as he was a calm, cool and a good student.

Musical.

Who is she? In my thought a girl in a long skirt and a shirt with curly long hair comes. I have never seen her. She is my concern of knowledge. She is in her world….. Very much absorbed in her own.

She is, maybe seven to eight years old. She always comes in my blank thoughts. Whenever I come to rest on my sofa or even think something deep in my mind, she comes and as if she is my sister or some other kin.Without telling me asks me to write a story for her. I stared Huh! Is that so easy?

I started neglecting her. Many magic mind knows. One day I was dozing in the train, I saw her laughing at me. That day she was in a beautiful red skirt. I got up and it was my stop. The other day my boss called me in his chamber for some explanation, she appeared in my imagination and disappeared then and there. My boss looked at me and asked, “What do you say about this (The matter which we were discussing). I told him spontaneously “Sir, this problem will appear and disappear and we will keep an watch on it.” I could not sleep that night. Things cannot go like this. Does she only gives me all the ideas? It does not happen with all. I was feeling shy whether she follows me every moment. Slowly I fell asleep. No in the dream she did not come.

Next morning, she was in my thought with a sad face and asked me to keep quiet. My mother was asking me about my lost appearance. I had my breakfast and went to the market, the vegetable seller was asking exorbitant price for tomatoes. While all were protesting about the price, I kept quiet.

Though I was also feeling the same to protest. I bought a little less than the required amount of tomatoes with other vegetables and came home. The very girl was telling in my mind that she is flying. A letter in my mobile came that I have to go to Vietnam for some office work and I must wait for the other formalities to get over. I asked my wet mind “ Will you be with me in Vietnam?” I saw her singing. This was a real tension as I cannot sing. My voice is very much unlikeable. I went to my office and after lunch break  my boss told me that not to much worry as in Vietnam the lunch time is long and they go for an hour long nap to get freshened. I could not believe, the very girl appeared in a colourful skirt yawning. What?????? would I be found lazy? Then anyhow, after landing at the” Tan Son Nhat” International airport, the company cab took me to the office and after that when they dropped  me at their guest house, I really loved it.

It was well furnished, well lit and in the living room, there is a piano. Saw her smiling with a gesture like conducting an orchestra she moved her hands. This time I was mesmerized. Kept my baggage down.Came out of my shoes and went to it and for the first time touched the keys of the piano. Moved my fingers as they do in television shows. I felt my childhood where mother was having tough time to train me in harmonium. I got a call from my mother and she complained why was I not responding to her calls? While she had been continuously trying my number. When I replied that I was playing a piano and could not hear the mobile was raining with rings, a big “What?” came from her. The very girl appeared and told me to have a wash and order some food.

Did You Eat My Chocolates?

Did you eat my chocolates?

That I am searching for them everywhere?

Did you hide them in your pockets?

That you are pretending to be alone?

How come you are so happy?

That your teeth are all brown?

When this morning you didn’t have a single paisa to buy anything from.

Can’t you see my pain?

That you take my chocolates all along for your gain?

Better give me back my chocolates,

O else it won’t be fair,

Buy me a new bar of it,

Do it right now,

For I love my chocolate,

Just so that you know.

Be careful next time,

Don’t take my chocolate ever again,

If you dare to do so,

I won’t speak to you,

Ever and ever again.

Another Morning Of Cricket.

Yes, it is Sunday and yes it’s cricket day. The boys of my locality since morning till afternoon 01:30 pm were playing cricket like mad men.

You can sleep from morning till evening, no one will know.

In the scintillating Sun, they played cricket as if there is nothing else to do on this Holy day.

To play cricket after having full fledged lunch is hard.

Earlier people used to say that heavy breakfast, moderate lunch, in between have some light tiffin and have light supper with soup, but nowadays breakfast are always farce, not one hour will go and you will feel hungry. Then everytime you step on the weighing machine to check whether you have lost any weight or so.

I am thinking that the person who is running so slow must have had lunch, so what’s the meaning of playing cricket after lunch? What about the fast bowler who is acting like a medium pacer.

Be happy, take rest as it as a Sunday.

So a happy Sunday.
