To Eat the Humble Pie.

Remember my friend Joshua? Well his friend Michael had to eat the humble pie recently.

He was fined $128 for speeding on the highway. He was asked to pay it, within a week.

But he avoided paying it for more than ten days and again he was caught speeding in a school zone and was fined $273. When the officer was checking him up on the computer, it popped up that he had not paid a fine.Now that $128 had snowballed into a $256 fine and the total amount to pay was $529. This time the officer confiscated his license asked him to pay the whole amount by two days. Now comes the humble pie. His father is the manager of a food joint and the officer who had fined him had gone there for a lunch and while having his food, he was discussing with his colleagues the tactics of now a days speeding drivers. Michael’s father had gone over to their table to ask them if the food was alright, when he saw his son’s driving license on the table where the officers were having lunch.As the officer had confiscated it an hour back, he still had Michael’s license on him and had kept it on the table with the other documents as he was having his lunch.

The manager (Micheal’s father) asked the officer that where from had he got his son’s license.On learning that he was Michael’s father, he told him all that had happened that morning. Michael’s father was boiling with anger on knowing about the total fine amount.

When he reached home, he coolly asked Michael for his driving license.Michael replied that he had lost it and that he would apply for a new one.

Michael’s father-“Lost it, like having to pay a $500 fine for it to come back to you or lost it-lost it?”.

Michael was stunned. He said sorry to his father.

His father-“Son, sorry wouldn’t do.It simply wouldn’t.If you keep on adding fines to your list of expenditures, soon you would have nothing but only tickets to eat for.”

Michael couldn’t reply to this and he had to eat the humble pie.

He paid up the fine and was informed that license had been confiscated for three months because he had not paid the earlier fine on time

Banana Wafers with Fresh Cream.

Buy a packet of thin sliced banana wafers.Make sure that the banana wafers are thin sliced and a bit longer in shape and size than the regular banana chips.I think they can be found in bigger superstores or in the main local markets where are a variety of banana wafers are available.Buy two packets of such wafers. Now a days many companies sell small two hundred gram packs of fresh cream.Buy four of them.You can also scoop fresh cream out of the boiled milk at your home

Then pick up the banana wafers and eat them one by one after dipping them into the fresh cream.If needed you can even add sugar on top of the fresh cream.

THE DRIVING LICENSE GONE.

Nearly a month or two back I had written about a cop.

He is a traffic cop and a good guy.

Now day before yesterday, he was manning an interjunction which was heavy with traffic and on top of that, road repair work was also going on.

All was going well, traffic was not smooth exactly but it was going on alright, when a truck instead of going straight forward started signalling him that it wanted to take a right turn. He signaled the truck driver to keep going forward and he warned him that the right turn was a no entry for trucks. Without paying any regards to his instructions, the truck driver took a right turn and the cop made it stop right in between the interjunction and asked for the driver’s license.Driver coolly kept on driving forward and after going a bit ahead the driver stopped and handed over his license to the cop and without any further ado he drove the truck towards it’s destination.The cop took a photo of the license plate of the vehicle and of the driver’s license. For a simple right turn, the driver lost his license and now he would have to pay a hefty fine to get it back.

Had this happened in any of the countries which enforce stricter traffic laws, the driver would have had his license confiscated for ever or it would have been suspended for a longer period of time.

Squishy Toys.

When the squishy toys first came out nearly twenty years back, they were more than a craze.Nearly each and every kid in my school had them.They used to come in different shapes and sizes. They were great fun to play with and many of the kids would bring them to school and play with it during recess.

Now, one day what happened was that, in the last period, our vice principal came into our classroom suddenly when the class was going on and she asked the whole class-“Does any one of you have any squishy toys?” None gave an affirmative answer.All were mum and silent.The class teacher asked her that why was she asking particularly for squishy toys? The vice principal then showed her a few squishy toys which she had confiscated from other students of different classes.

Vice Principal-“Now from tomorrow onwards if any one of you brings squishy toys to school, I will suspend that student.Is it clear to all?”

Students-“Yes, teacher”.

From that day onwards not a single student brought any squishy toy to school.Don’t be fooled that they were afraid of being suspended.They were rather afraid that they would lose their precious squishy toy and losing even a single squishy toy would cause a serious dent to their squishy toy collection.

Potato Wedgie Slider.

Few days ago ma, baba and me we went to an Italian restaurant. The best thing about Italian restaurants are that you will always find something authentic to taste about.

We weren’t much hungry and so we ordered for two plates of potato wedgie sliders and three tall glasses of cold drinks.

The sliders came and the potato wedgies were served in two small fryer baskets with small dip bowls full of mustard dip and cheese dips.

We started eating.I took a bite into the potato wedgie and felt that they taste better with the dips.Once I dipped them into the mustard dip and had them.They tasted simply marvelous and with the cheese dip they tasted more tastier.

One must have potato wedgie slider with dips, as they simply taste excellent.
