The Bird That Ate Chickpeas.

When I was young, we had a small house. In that house, there was a small verandah and it had green vines growing on it from a nearby creeper plant and birds would come and sit on the vine or the grill of the verandah. Many birds would come there, but there was a particular bird who would come regularly. He would sit around for few minutes, look around here and there and then he would keep on chattering till he was bored or parched. He had blue and red feathers and a yellow beak and was a very pretty bird.

So what happened was, I was eating chickpeas, while looking out of the verandah and the peas fell out of my hand right outside the verandah and in an instant swooping action, that bird came down and started eating it.

Afterwards, sometimes I would keep chickpeas on the grill and instantaneously the bird would swoop down and eat it.

That bird became my friend and I became his friend and when we had to leave that house, it was a sad moment for both of us. The bird stood guard while we shifted out of the place and I fed him his favourite chickpeas for the last time.

The pain, the sadness and the untethered past is often recommended by philosophers and many personalities, but the scars that are left behind and especially when it happens to be hidden deep inside one’s heart, then no amount healing, counselling or metamorphosis can do any good to it.It simply stays where it was and with time it deepens and remains stuck forever and ever.

I now live in a house, which has no verandah and there are very few birds which visit our house. Mostly sparrows come, but that too when there are food grains for them.

In our life, we have to leave many things behind.I miss all the good things from my past which I had to leave behind, due to destiny, lack of money and cleverness of few people, who interfere in your life, forcefully manipulate with it, play with it,and put up a smiling face always, but always do the damage which is irreparable. After all, it is WORLD.

Philosophy, big talks and “all good will happen”, only gives face value to movies, but in reality, it seldom happens.

But, you know, that I love God the most and destiny is not made by God and as I continuously search and pray for him, I do hope that my friend does return to me and eats again his favorite food which I will enjoy watching him to eat.I search for him, but doesn’t he? It is the cunning destiny which doesn’t guide him to me but guides him to some other verandah and vines.

You will not believe how many birds I have seen in my previous house and it had a very big garden. Many parrots, big birds with white wings with beautiful grey feathers under their white wings.Small red birds, yellow birds with blue wings, yellow birds, green birds  and sometimes very exotic birds were also seen. There was a big mango tree and all the birds would come there and have those delicious mangoes. After returning from school and afterwards college, watching them eat those mangoes was one of my favourite pastimes.

I have written that destiny is not made by God, as it is made by men and women and their silly desires and wants. God’s words, teachings, insights have been unheard, seen but made unseen, his writings ignored and his teachings abolished. It is man who runs the world, but it is God Almighty who protects and is the one and only benign and trustworthy friend of all.

Travelling Three Blocks By Four Blocks.

Travelling is not limited to travel by car, bus, train or plane. On foot, the distance covered is also known as travelling. It is very wise to walk the streets, than travel by car on them.

So, we (ma and me), once, went for a walk and we covered three blocks, which especially covered residential buildings and while coming back we covered four blocks, as we took an extra round around our own building. It was fun and refreshing.

Potato Thai Ginger Salad Sliced Tomatoes

I have invented this salad. This salad consists of the same ingredients as the above mentioned title, except salt, pepper and honey drippings.

First, boil the four potatoes. Peel them and keep them aside.

Second, take a nice and clean Thai ginger (galangal) and wash it nicely under cold water and take only five grams of it and chop it nicely.

Third, wash four – five tomatoes, again under cold water and slice them.

Fourth, take those potatoes and grate them.

Then take a plate and arrange the sliced tomatoes on the plate. Arrange them in such a way that those tomatoes, cover the whole plate.

On those tomatoes add and layer up the potatoes swiftly. The tomatoes would act as a base for the potatoes.

Now, sprinkle the chopped Thai ginger over it.

It has now come become a three tier salad with the tomatoes at the bottom, potatoes in the middle and the Thai ginger at the top.

Add a bit of salt and pepper over it and drizzle it with honey drippings.

Voila! Your salad preparation is ready.

After you have made this preparation, take each individual slices of the tomatoes which hold the potatoes and the Thai ginger, hold them steadily and eat them slowly and merrily.

The Thai ginger can act as a bit of deterrent, as it can give a bit of bitter taste. You can add more of honey drippings.

N.B. You can even add potatoes over your salad, but alas! then it wouldn’t remain a salad.

Enjoy your salad and happy eating.

BIENVENIDO.

Bienvenido. It is a Spanish word. What does it mean? It primarily means, welcome and it translates into “welcome”.

Welcome is the first and foremost gesture towards any guest.

In any good restaurant, it has become a trend and a rule, to have a staff member stationed at the restaurant door, to extend a warm and gracious welcome towards the guests.

The more gracious your welcome, the more merrier time the guest would have at your home/restaurant/office, etc.

In India, we welcome our guests with our left and right palms brought together. This is known as namaste.

When you land at any port in Spain, the officials and the people of the city, would say,”Hola! Bienvenido”.

Taxi drivers, when they drive their passengers from international airports and railway stations to their destinations, often while describing or telling them about the city, they say to their passengers-“welcome to my city” and the passengers often smile in response.

When you enter any big or branded institution or organization, they will say ” welcome to my office”.

“Welcome, welcome to our establishment and welcome to ….”, are the most simple, common and both formal and informal ways to greet anyone.

Gracias.

Happy World Music Day (Heureux Fete De La Musique).

Today,21st June 2018, is being celebrated as World Music Day.

The word music means happiness to my ears.

Music to me has come to me from my Ma. Everything that I know, I like about music, comes from ma.

The songs she sang to me, when she used to pat me gently on my forehead, trying to make me go to sleep, those songs created a deeper respect and fondness.

Music fills life and music is life itself. Without music, a human being is a like a dry desert and when he or she understands the subtlety that music is,that human being becomes like a smooth flowing sweet river.

Listening to music, understanding it and enjoying it, is one of God’s greatest gifts to human beings.

A nice music can soothe and heal a person, it can make an angry person calm down, it can give solace to a sad person, singing a song from the bottom of the heart, makes a way for the emotions and moods to flow in such a way, that for a human being, all the pain, sadness and unhappiness finds a good way to express itself in sweet and musical words and that person’s heart and mind becomes refreshed, as if he was born just yesterday.

Thank you all, for joining me on my post for the world music day and do enjoy this day, by listening to your favourite music, by singing your favourite songs and by creating the most wonderful music on earth.

N.B.-Music requires no introduction, it is placed in everyone’s heart by default and the person who cannot appreciate music of any kind, is the most unhappy person in all of the universes.

Merci.

Heureux Fete de la musique.
